The modified version of the Emotional Functioning Scale presented excellent convergent validity with the Beck Anxiety Inventory, and the Global Psychosocial Adjustment Scale, with the Brief COPE, and the translated version of the questionnaire presented good convergent validity with the Self-Efficacy Scale and the Farsi version of the Emotional Functioning Scale. The Brazilian version of the Emotional Functioning Scale showed excellent internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha > 0.90). The Global Psychosocial Adjustment Scale presented good internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.73). The Brazilian version of the Emotional Functioning and Global Psychosocial Adjustment Scales presents acceptable psychometric properties and, therefore, could be used in clinical practice to assess psychosocial adjustment in patients with a head and neck cancer.Strain-induced open-shell character in carbon nanotubes.
